Norinco NHM-91

The NHM-91 is a semi-automatic civilian version of the Russian Kalashnikov AKM (Chinese Type 56) made by Norinco Arms Corp. In the U.S. was imported by ChinaSports Inc. with special modifications to meet the requirements of a 1989 Executive Order by President George H. W. Bush prohibiting importation of certain 'assault rifle' configurations of military-style semi-automatic rifles such as the Norinco AKM/AK-47. It has 20 inch thicker-profile chrome-lined barrel and heavier metal receiver built from 1.5mm-thick stamped sheet metal. Typical of a Soviet or Chinese-made AKM has 1mm thick receiver so NHM-91 receiver is more rigid and proved to be more accurate in combination with NHM-91's lighter trigger. The NHM-91 was delivered with one 30-round box and one 75-rounds Chinese drum magazine.
