Italian Firearms 1886 Sporting Lever
To create the ideal big-bore lever gun, renowned Italian gunmaker Pedersoli took the best elements of the John Browning-designed Model 1886 and Model 71 rifles. Just like the revolutionary large-frame 1886, Pedersoli's 1886/71 Lever-Action Rifle's twin sliding vertical lugs lock solidly to withstand the pounding of magnum .45-70 loads. The tube magazine extends a full 5" beyond the forend – 2-1/2" longer than the originals – for a full six-round capacity (five in the magazine plus one in the chamber). Another feature not available on the original versions is the round 24" barrel, for the perfect blend of accuracy and fast handling. It also has integrated sling-swivel studs, a modern convenience all hunters can appreciate. The Grade-III walnut pistol-grip stock and forend have a smooth satin finish. The receiver and grip cap are color-case finished; the barrel and magazine have low-luster bluing. It's outfitted with a precision semi-buckhorn rear sight and hooded front sight, and it's also drilled and tapped specifically for a Williams peep sight for increased long-range precision.
