Popular for its accuracy and reliability and originally known as the Model 1950 the Smith Wesson Model 22 is an updated version of the M1917 a revolver that was primarily manufactured as a secondary weapon for the military during World War I. Like the 1917 the Model 22 was made to accept rimless pistol cartridges with the use of moon clips and is chambered in 45 ACP.
