Mauser Jagdwaffen M 98 Magnum Big Five
The “Big Five” form without doubt the most classic theme of a genuine big game rifle. Subtle engraving consisting of Acanthus and Leaf Arabesques can be found on the action with the double square bridge and the bolt handle. The artwork continues across the grip cap and the trigger guard and culminates in the portrait of the “Big Five” on the magazine base plate. Lion, Cape Buffalo, Rhino, Elephant and Leopard are skilfully framed by Arabesque and Acanthus engravings. A subtle gold inlay gives the artwork on this rifle a very elegant finish. Especially hand selected grade seven wood is used for the stock. Once again a matt silver, a result of a silver nitrate coating, seemed the best background to underline the skill involved in creating this rifle.
