Israel Weapon BC9MML
The IWI Uzi Model B Carbine was imported in the USA by Action Arms from 1983 until 1989. The Uzi carbine is fitted with a 16" barrel to meet the minimum rifle barrel length requirement for civilian sales in the United States. The Uzi was a revolutionary weapon in that it was the first to use a telescoping bolt design, in which the bolt wraps around the breech end of the barrel. This allows the barrel to be moved far back into the receiver and the magazine to be housed in the pistol grip. The Uzi uses an open bolt, blowback-operated design. The open bolt design exposes the breech end of the barrel, and improves cooling during periods of continuous fire. The FS-style selector switch has two positions "F" for "fire" and "S" for "safe".
