FN Herstal M240H
The FN M240H is a U.S. Army variant further optimized for combat helicopter deployment. With demonstrated reliability far exceeding other mid-caliber designs then in service, members of the FN M240 family quickly became the primary medium machine gun throughout the U.S. Military.For the M240D, optional egress kits consisting of the buttstock, trigger mechanism and bipod enable the use of a pintle-mounted FN M240 as a ground role machine gun for self-defense by dismounted vehicle crew members. General Specifications: 7.62x51mm NATO. Open-bolt operation. Belt-fed. Quick-change barrel Matte black non-reflective finish on all surfaces. Adjustable steel bipod. Receiver: Solid steel frame for durability. Gas-operated. Fires from the open bolt position to reduce heat build-up and potential for chambered round cook-off. Multiple integrated MIL-STD 1913 mounting rails for optics, lights and laser devices. Barrel: Hammer-forged steel. Fixed headspace and timing. Air-cooled design. STOCK/MOUNT: Ability to mount on a bipod, tripod vehicle or aircraft. Optional egress kit for converting pintle mount models to ground fire support configuration.
