5.56x45 - 62 Grain FMJ M855 - Winchester - 800 Rounds

We love Winchester’s 5.56x45 M855 ammunition. Not only is this a great case of ammo to have on hand for plinking and target practice – it’s also useful for home defense thanks to its special full metal jacket projectile. This round’s 62 grain FMJ is known as a “penetrator.” That’s because the front half of its core is made of hard steel instead of soft lead, which makes the bullet resilient enough to penetrate soft tissue to a depth of up to 20”. The penetrator bullet also does a much better job of puncturing sheet metal, and it may even split in half as it penetrates soft tissue so it can track two wound channels through its target. The penetrator’s green painted tip indicates that the bullet contains steel. It will attract a magnet, so plan which ranges you visit accordingly. Its slightly heavier bullet also means M855 ammo provides the best accuracy in conjunction with a 1:8” or 1:9” barrel. (A 1:7” twist is acceptable, just not ideal.) This ammo will function correctly in any AR-15 or other 5.56 firearm. Its brass cases are military-style in that they were not polished after being heat-treated for greater strength. Non-corrosive, Boxer-primed and fully reloadable!

Bushmaster Gas Piston 90294

The Bushmaster Gas Piston System Rifles bring new levels of reliability to the “AR” type rifle platform by eliminating carbon build up, gas leaks and heat within the Upper Receiver. The Gas Piston System operates by tapping gas pressure off the barrel much like the systems found on AK-47s and FALs * Functions with a wider range of ammunition - less gas pressure - lower cyclic rate * Offers improved reliability and control - with cleaner operation and reduced recoil * Keeps carbon build up and powder residue from reaching - and fouling the Upper Receiver and Bolt Carrier * A Detented Plug in the Gas Block allows easy cleaning of the Systems’ Hard Chrome Plated Piston
