Browning Maxus Sporting

MAXIMUM RELIABILITY. MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE. Real-world reliability is the most important feature any manufacturer can build into a firearm. Thats why it was the first priority when we set about developing the Browning Maxus. The Power Drive Gas System is designed to perform under harsh hunting and shooting conditions with a wide array of loads. But reliability isnt the whole story. The Maxus delivers 18% less felt recoil for greater comfort, 44% less muzzle jump for more accurate follow-up shots, 19% faster bolt speed and 24% faster locktime than the nearest competitor. Unequalled reliability and features, all found in the finest, most reliable gas-operated autoloader ever to swing on a bird.

Lithgow Small Arms Lithgow .410 Shotgun

In 1949 a .410 single shot bolt action shotgun was built on the SMLE action at Lithgow Small Arms Factory. Some 6600 were produced and marketed by Slazenger. It uses the 303 SMLE action and is fitted with a military steel barrel. The butt and rear sight are standard 303 fittings while the fore-end and foresight have been modified. The magazine opening is blanked off and the gun is only a single shot. Production ceased in the late 1950s and there don’t appear to be many around in good condition. The 25" barrel is fine-bored and full-choked to throw close, even pattern, and it's chambered to handle all standard lengths of .410 gauge shells from 2" to 3".
