Reduced length of pull - the 13" length of pull stock enables a shooter with shorter reach to comfortably put their firing hand on the grip for a relaxed trigger pull. Additionally, their support hand will more comfortably support the forend of the rifle, reducing strain-induced shaking that make it difficult to take a steady shot. Reduced barrel length - the 20" barrel reduces the weight on the front end of the rifle. Often, this extra weight makes it difficult for a smaller shooter to hold a rifle steady in an unsupported stance. Additionally, it's hard to move through cover with a proportionally longer gun relative to the size of the shooter. The barrel length reduction is just right - allowing better rifle handling without sacrificing too much velocity. Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad - Pachmayr is a well-known name in the hunting industry, producing some of the softest and comfortable recoil pads you can get. They also have a partially tacky surface that reduces the chances of the stock slipping under recoil, potentially causing inadvertent and painful impacts to a learning shooter and hunter.
