Rifles Descriptions

Axial Altera Steel

Receiver: Convergence: CNC machined 17-4 stainless steel. Wire EDM cut raceways. Integral recoil lug or pinned recoil lug. Extended length magazine for VLD bullets. Fits in Remington 700 stocks. Bolt: CNC machined from one piece of hardened 4140 chromoly. Spiral fluted body. Ergonomic swept back bolt handle. Improved firing pin design for faster lock time. Dual ejectors for improved ejection angle. Barrel: (Other options available): Match grade hand-lapped stainless steel fluted barrel. #4 or #5 contour. Length 20-24”. The Axial Trajectory Alignment System (ATAS) delivers the key element for rifle accuracy. This patented technology ensures all rifle components are aligned along a central axis from the bolt face to the bullet exiting the rifle bore. This improves rifle harmonics, while reducing barrel whip and unpredictable changes in bullet trajectory caused by alignment errors that are typical in virtually all high-performance rifles. Furthermore, Axial Precision has designed receiver: Asymmetric Receiver Design solves the dilemma that invariably accompanies accurate rifles. This patented technology achieves extremely tight tolerance at lock-up, while scraping debris into loose tolerance areas as the bolt cycles through the action. The mechanical safety mechanism on an Axial Precision rie is a traditional two position type safety commonly found on the Remington model 700 rie and similar ries. It can be unloaded while the safety is in the “on” position. The safety lever is located to the side of the rear of the bolt. There are two positions the safety lever can be in. If the safety lever is pulled completely to the rear, the safety is on. If the safety lever is pushed completely forward, the safety is o and the gun can bered if the trigger is pulled.
