Detailed Review
Ruger SR9 is a striker-fired semi-automatic pistol designed and manufactured by Sturm, Ruger & Company. The gun was introduced in 2007 as a modern, lightweight, and slim profiled handgun suitable for self-defense, concealed carry, and target shooting.
The Ruger SR9 is chambered in 9mm Luger, which is a common and widely available cartridge. The gun has a capacity of 17 rounds, which is more than most other 9mm pistols in its class. The magazine release is reversible to accommodate left-handed shooters, and the gun comes with two magazines.
The Ruger SR9 has a polymer frame, which makes it lightweight and durable. The grip is textured for a secure and comfortable hold, and the trigger guard is undercut to allow a higher grip for better recoil control. The trigger is a striker-fired design with a smooth pull and a short reset.
The slide of the Ruger SR9 is made of stainless steel and has a black nitride finish to resist corrosion and wear. The slide serrations are deep and wide for easy manipulation, and the rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation. The front sight is a fixed white dot, which provides a clear sight picture in most lighting conditions.
The Ruger SR9 has a manual safety, which is located on the left side of the frame. The safety is ambidextrous, and it can be engaged or disengaged with either hand. The gun also has a loaded chamber indicator, which protrudes from the back of the slide to indicate if there is a round in the chamber.
The Ruger SR9 has a 4.14-inch barrel, which is slightly longer than some other pistols in its category. The longer barrel provides better accuracy and velocity, which is useful for target shooting or self-defense situations. The gun measures 7.55 inches in overall length, 5.52 inches in height, and 1.27 inches in width. The weight of the gun is 26.5 ounces, which makes it easy to carry for extended periods.
The Ruger SR9 is a reliable and accurate handgun that is suitable for a variety of purposes. The gun has a sleek and modern design, which appeals to many shooters. The gun is easy to operate and maintain, and it comes with a limited lifetime warranty from the manufacturer.

After a small elevation adjustment groups were under 2" at 25 yards. Two 17 round magazines came with mine very generous! Easy take-down and re-assembly. Lots of 9mm ammo out there to experiment. Very happy with my purchase!

March 26, 2012I've owned my SR9 for about 18 months or so. I've fed it a bunch of different ammo and so far it's eaten it all. No FTE, FTF or stove pipes. The only issue I've found is if you're outside and it's hot. it seems to take a little extra work to keep a tight
