The Ruger P89 is a semi-automatic handgun created by American firearms manufacturer Sturm, Ruger & Co. The P89 was first introduced in 1989 and was produced until 2013 when it was replaced by the Ruger SR9.
The P89 features a double-action/single-action trigger that allows for both quick firing and more precise shots. It has a capacity of 15+1 rounds and uses a 9mm Parabellum cartridge. The gun has an overall length of 8.5 inches and a weight of 31 ounces.
The P89 has a traditional double-stack magazine design and comes with either a blued or stainless steel finish. It also has fixed front and rear sights that are drift adjustable for windage. The grip is designed to fit comfortably in the hand and has a checkered texture for added grip.
One notable feature of the P89 is its manual safety, which is located on the left side of the frame. The safety is easy to operate and provides an additional layer of protection when carrying the gun.
The P89 has a reputation for being a reliable and accurate handgun. It has been used by law enforcement agencies and civilians alike for self-defense and target shooting. The gun also has a relatively low price point compared to other handguns on the market, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers.
Overall, the Ruger P89 is a well-designed and versatile handgun that has stood the test of time. Its combination of reliability, accuracy, and affordability makes it a popular choice for gun owners around the world.

March 30, 2007Great pistol. I would recommend stepping up to the "decocker" model though, it is a p89dc. I have mine in stainless. Put nearly 600 rounds through without a single jam/misfire/stick, etc. Great gun. I'm glad I traded my s&w 9ve for this. Way better built
