Detailed Review

The Ruger American Rifle Predator 6971 is a popular and reliable hunting rifle designed for accuracy, versatility and durability. It comes with many features that make it stand out from other rifles in the market. Here are some of its key features:

  • Caliber: .223 Remington
  • Capacity: 5 rounds
  • Barrel Length: 22 inches
  • Stock: Moss Green synthetic stock
  • Trigger: Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger
  • Sights: None. Drilled and tapped for scope mounts
  • Weight: 6.6 pounds (without scope)
  • Overall Length: 42 inches

The Ruger American Rifle Predator 6971 is a great choice for hunters and shooters who want a lightweight and accurate rifle. The rifle's Moss Green synthetic stock is durable and weather-resistant, making it ideal for use in harsh outdoor conditions. The stock also features a recoil pad that helps reduce felt recoil, which is especially important during long shooting sessions.

The rifle's barrel is made from cold hammer-forged steel and features a medium contour, which provides a good balance between weight and stiffness. The barrel is also threaded, which allows for easy attachment of a suppressor or muzzle brake.

The Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger is one of the best features of this rifle. It is adjustable from 3 to 5 pounds, which allows shooters to customize the trigger pull to their preferences. The trigger is also very crisp and consistent, which helps shooters achieve optimal accuracy.

The rifle's action is smooth and reliable, and it feeds cartridges smoothly from the rotary magazine. The magazine is easy to load and unload, and it holds 5 rounds of .223 Remington ammunition.

One of the downsides of this rifle is that it does not come with any sights. However, the rifle is drilled and tapped for scope mounts, which makes it easy to attach a scope. The lack of iron sights is not a big issue for most hunters and shooters, as they typically use scopes for long-range shooting anyway.

In conclusion, the Ruger American Rifle Predator 6971 is an excellent hunting rifle that offers great accuracy, versatility and durability. Its Moss Green synthetic stock, Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger, and cold hammer-forged barrel are just a few of the features that make this rifle stand out. If you're in the market for a new hunting rifle, the Ruger American Rifle Predator 6971 is definitely worth considering.

Bolt Action

I purchased the 6.5. I immediately noticed the bolt action was sticky so I greased it up and nothing changed. I thought it was just me and my arthritis, but I took it to Cabelas to have a scope put on, and they had issues with the bolt action sticking too

A price point value

I've had this rifle in .308 for over a year now. The fit and finish were a little better than I expected at such a low price, but you can tell it's a budget rifle when handling it. Looking at the groups produced down range however, would lead you to belie

Excellent Rifle - Great Price

I bought this rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor about a month ago and finally got to the range and got it sighted in at 100 yards. I'm easily shooting sub MOA with Hornady ELD Match 140 grain bullets. I haven't even warmed the gun up yet. There are people easily sho

This was a budget rifle?! 6.5CDMR

I couldn't believe the performance of this rifle on the first day! First thing I did was strip the rifle down to the stock and run a dremmel along the barrel channel to ensure a true free floating barrel. After bore-sighting the Vortex 4x12 I took it to t

Budget Rifle - Outstanding Performance

Got the Ruger American Predator in 6.5 CM last week. After an initial cleaning which is definitely needed, I took it to the range. So far, I've only shot the Hornady Whitetail load through it and it grouped just under an inch. I only expect it to get bett

Predator At The Range

Attached is a target of a group that I shot yesterday using factory ammo (143 ELD-X). This was at 100 yards off a bipod and is well under one inch. The recoil of the 6.5 won't beat you up either.

Inconsistent

I am a big Ruger fan. I purchased the Ruger American Rifle Predator in 223. It would not group at 100 yards. I have a bench rest shooting background and I tried several different techniques and loads. Nothing worked and I ended up getting rid of the rifle

Great accurate rifle

I bought this in 6.5 Creedmoor and could not be happier. I got a Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40 Deadhold at the same time and had Cabelas install it for me. Took it to the range today. Sighted it in at 25 yards. First two shots were low and left a bit but the

Cheap magazine.

The Ruger American Predator rifle in 6mm is A+ in all respect but for the magazine. It is cheap looking, fits poorly and is difficult to remove easily.
