About Remington 887

Born of the gunmaking expertise that brought you the best-selling, most trusted shotgun of all time, the Model 870, the Model 887 Nitro Mag is an armor-clad warrior here to carry the torch of the great pump-gun legacy through the most extreme conditions on earth. The most durable and reliable shotgun ever built, it has no external surfaces to rust. The exclusive ArmorLokt construction process seals the receiver and barrel in a vault of weather-impervious synthetic armor, so you can wipe it down with your wet dog or a decoy bag at the end of the day. Its overmolded surface is built to withstand abrasion in the trenches, whether that's barbed wire, gnarly thorns or the bottom of a Jon boat. And when it's time for action, the revolutionary SuperCell recoil pad so effectively reduces rearward force that it makes a 3" mag 12 gauge feel like a light field load. This is the softest-shooting pump gun ever. Similar to the Model 870, its receiver is manufactured from solid steel, and the barrel is hammer-forged.

Detailed Review

The Remington 887 Nitro Mag is a pump-action shotgun that has been designed to be extremely durable and reliable in even the toughest of conditions. It is chambered for 12-gauge cartridges and features a 3.5-inch chamber, which allows it to handle heavy loads with ease.

The shotgun boasts an ArmorLokt™ coating on the receiver and barrel, which provides excellent corrosion resistance and durability. The coating is also scratch-resistant, ensuring that the shotgun will remain looking new even after years of use.

The 887 Nitro Mag features a synthetic stock and fore-end, which are designed to be weather-resistant and provide a comfortable grip. The stock is also adjustable for length of pull, allowing shooters to customize the fit of the gun to their individual needs.

One of the most unique features of the 887 Nitro Mag is the SuperCell recoil pad. This pad is designed to reduce felt recoil by up to 50%, making shooting more comfortable and less fatiguing. The pad is also removable, allowing shooters to customize the length of pull even further.

The shotgun features a 28-inch barrel with a vent rib and fiber optic front sight. The vent rib provides a flat surface for quick and easy target acquisition, while the fiber optic sight helps to improve visibility in low-light conditions.

The 887 Nitro Mag also features a crossbolt safety, which is located on the trigger guard for easy access and quick operation. The shotgun can be quickly and easily disassembled for cleaning and maintenance, thanks to its modular design.

In summary, the Remington 887 Nitro Mag is a durable, reliable, and customizable pump-action shotgun that is well-suited for a variety of applications, including hunting, sport shooting, and home defense.

The Remington 887 is a very simple and easy to maintenance shotgun. It absorbs more of the felt recoil than my 870. The only problem I had was that I had to send the shotgun back to Remington because it had trouble ejecting the spend cases of cheaper ammo

Not my favorite shotgun ever. Several manufacturers shells stuck horribly in the chamber after firing, jamming the action. I'm grateful I discovered this on the range instead of in the woods.

Received shotgun yesterday. Cleaned and oiled. Worked action with dummy rounds. Smooth, little stiff. To be expected, new shotgun. Shot four rounds of skeet this morning. Action is smooth, no hangups, or misfires. Ejections were fine. Extremely pleased w
