The Action is extremely smooth, and it's a great shooter. Right now the load gate is very stiff, but hopefully will loosen after more use.

Fantastic mid-range carbine! Can%u2019t go wrong at all with this gun. Just be aware that it%u2019s actually a 5 1 (confirmed by marlin rep) not 6 1 like advertised on buds. You know you want it so just buy it already, buds price can%u2019t be beat!

The wood is processed near my hometown in Rutland, Vermont. It is laminated and impregnated with waterproof glue and from my own experience it is indestructible. It is a bit heavier but on a 2 piece stock like the Marlin barely noticeable.
