9mm - 150 Grain Total Synthetic Jacket (TSJ) - Federal Syntech Action Pistol - 50 Rounds
Federal's new Syntech ammunition represents a new age of material selection that is aimed directly at benefiting competitive shooters in both indoor and outdoor environments. Each of these 9mm rounds features a 150-grain projectile with a traditional lead core that is completely encapsulated in a polymer coating instead of a gilding metal jacket; this synthetic skin reduces copper fouling and barrel friction in order to optimize accuracy between cleanings while preserving rifling quality for as long as possible. As part of the Syntech "Action Pistol" expansion, the projectiles have a flattened nose for easier scoring on paper targets and greater chance of first-round knockdown on steel poppers. To that same end, the TSJ (Total Synthetic Jacket) projectile is less likely to produce ricochets when it strikes hard surfaces such as steel targets or indoor bullet catchers, making this 9x19mm load an excellent choice for IDPA, USPSA, IPSC, and Steel Challenge. A weight of 150 grains will facilitate a smooth cycling impulse that many competitive shooters have come to prefer. Each bullet is crimped into a reloadable brass casing that is equipped with a lead-free Boxer primer. The non-corrosive primer is complimented by a measure of clean-burning powder that won't leave excess residue behind in the firearm nor on the shooter's hands. The G17 Gen5 features a no finger grooved, multiple backstrapped, rough textured frame with hundreds of miniature spikes which results in remarkable traction for extreme environments and gloved operators.
