Rifles Descriptions
308 - 168 Grain HPBT - Sellier & Bellot Match - 20 Rounds
This 308 Win ammunition came all the way from the Czech Republic with one purpose: to punch pretty little cloverleaf patterns through very distant sheets of paper. It’s just as ready to ring gongs and pulverize varmints, too, because this ammo is match grade. Sellier & Bellot armed this round with a 168 grain hollow point boat tail. The bullet’s uniform core and jacket, narrow meplat and tapering base all contribute to its heightened rotational stability and low drag. The bullet generates so little turbulence as it pierces the air that it achieves a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.458 (G7 0.231). It carries itself along a flat trajectory as it loses only 72 percent of its velocity by the 400 yard mark. To be sure, an HPBT’s hollow point is not engineered to enhance terminal ballistics with the addition of expansion. This round’s terminal performance is effectively indistinguishable from that of an FMJ. It’s still going to dust a varmint with over 1,600 ft lbs of energy at 300 yards, though. Sellier & Bellot loads ammo like America’s best manufacturers. That means there’s no steel to be found anywhere in this nonmagnetic ammo. Its new brass case is also socketed with a non-corrosive Boxer primer.
