5.56x45 - 55 Grain FMJ - Winchester USA - 800 Rounds

Sure, America has got its problems. We’ve got way too many mosquitoes here, and too few flavors of ice cream sandwiches available. But the fact that you can summon a whole case of Winchester’s American-made 5.56x45 ammo to your doorstep as easily as you could snap your fingers? That absolutely makes up for all the blood loss and plain vanilla we have to suffer through. This cartridge is sort of the “plain vanilla” of 5.56 ammo. In essence it’s the U.S. Armed Forces’ M193, with a 55 grain full metal jacket bullet that’s great for target practice as well as legal for international warfare (we expect you’ll only use it for the former purpose). Winchester’s massive production yields consistent FMJ bullets that deliver reliable feeding and target grade accuracy. With its 3,270 fps muzzle velocity this round’s bullet should need to rise no higher than 2.8 inches on its way to a 250 yard target. (Do note that an FMJ isn’t the greatest bullet available for self-defense simply because it doesn’t increase in diameter as it penetrates soft tissue. That said, blood loss is certainly going to become a major concern for any threat you manage with this powerful rifle ammo.) This round’s FMJ ought to help prevent excessive fouling of the barrel, as will its non-corrosive Boxer primer and clean burning propellant. Winchester’s freshly drawn and tapered brass offers reliable chambering as well as a perfect opportunity to handload.
