Rifles Descriptions
450 Bushmaster - 250 Grain FTX - Hornady Black - 20 Rounds
These .450 Bushmaster rounds are specifically engineered to take down big game like elk, moose, deer, and feral hog! Hornady’s Black line of ammunition is purpose-built to run reliably in American’s favorite black rifle: the AR platform. As such, each of these rounds is constructed using a reloadable brass casing that is fitted with a non-corrosive Boxer primer and filled with a precise measure of clean-burning propellant that has been thoroughly tested for semi-automatic reliability. The cartridge is crowned with Hornady’s propriety FTX (Flex-Tip eXpanding) projectile. The 250-grain bullet features a secant ogive and pronounced boat-tail rear which both contribute to superb drag resistance and stunning downrange accuracy. True to its name, the FTX possesses a polymer tip which is tapered to the bullet’s shape and covers a small diameter hollow cavity. Upon impact with a game animal, the bullet will experience an efficient rate of expansion that is kept in check by its grooved cannelure and Interlock ring; these two locking measures prevent jacket separation and ensure that the bullet will successfully penetrate thick hide, bone, and gristle before coming to rest in vital organs. This ensures devastating energy delivery to appropriate areas in order to yield a quick, humane kill. Hornady’s ammunition is manufactured in the United States and supported by experience which dates back to 1949. Like their other custom brands, the Black label allows shooters to get premium level performance without reloading at home.
